PSAT

WHO:   10th & 11th Graders typically   (however, 9th & 10th graders may take it as well)

WHEN:    9:15 – 12:30   typically is on a Weds, mid-October

WHERE:    CCA, in the library

WHY:

  • If you typically score VERY high on standardized tests, you are encouraged to take this test to see if you qualify for the National Merit Scholarship (only 11th Graders are eligible for it; 15,000 of 1.5 million will qualify)
  • This serves as a “practice” SAT test (most colleges require/accept ACT scores; however, check online to see if your potential university will require an SAT score….these schools are usually up north and out west)

PRICE:

  • CASH or CHECK (made out to “CCA” with the student’s name on the subject line)
  • The price is typically about $15.00

HOW TO REGISTER:

  • Bring money to Mrs. Bacher’s office during LUNCH or DS any day during the designated registration week (which is typically mid-September).
  • If you wait until Friday to pay, you will spend a lot of time in line waiting to register

  • Collegeboard will mail paper copies of individual scores to Mrs. Bacher to hand out to students (mid- to late-January)
