Modern Styles in Theatre (1945 to the Present)

This class will allow the student to explore, analyze, and practice several different styles of theatre. The student will read some of the major playwrights, select scene material, and work on scenes that will be presented in a showcase format. Among the playwrights and genres covered in this course are Beckett, Brecht, Ionesco, Absurdism, Naturalism, Williams, Miller, Pinter, Post-Modernism, Durang, Wolfe, and Overmeyer.
