Join the Center for Creative Arts vocal department as we enter the world of Madame Flora in Menotti’s opera production of The Medium.
Showings occur Thursday January 12, and Friday January 13, at 7 p.m. in the Center for Creative Arts Sandra Black Theater.
Admission is $5.
Founded in 1998, CCA is a nationally-recognized public magnet school serving approximately 600 students in grades 6 through 12 throughout Hamilton County. In addition to outstanding academic programs, the school was recently designated a 2015-2017 Exemplary School by Arts Schools Network, the nation’s largest professional membership organization of specialized arts schools. CCA has also been named a National School of Distinction in 2014, 2015, and 2016 as well as School of Excellence in 2012 and 2013 by Magnet Schools of America, the national association of magnet and theme-based schools.
Admission to the school is by audition, and interested students choose an area in which to audition including: acting, communications, dance instrumental music, musical theatre, technical theatre (9-12 grades only), visual arts, or vocal music. Magnet school applications are currently being accepted for the 2017-2018 school year. To complete a magnet school application, go to www.hcde.org and look under the Quick Links section for parents. Applications will be accepted through January 31, 2017. All students who indicate an interest in applying for CCA will receive an audition appointment in February of 2017.
